xNativeLab Outage
Why do we have an outage?
At the end of August, the license of our underlying vSphere cluster expires. Due to licencing changes, we are unable to renew this license. Due to a 6-month delay in the availability of alternative VM cluster infrastructure, we are unable to gracefully migrate xNL away from vSphere infrastructure. Therefor, we expect to have a downtime of up to 2 months during which xNativeLab will be unavailable.
What do you have to do?
- If you need continuous operation, we suggest deploying a cluster manually on SLICES-BI and migrating to that cluster before the final date. The SLICES docs have an example on how to deploy a K8S cluster using Talos. You can also use Kubeadm. Do note that when creating a new cluster on SLICES you will not have PVC support out of the box.
- If you can handle several months of downtime, you can back up important data and wait until xNativeLab is back online.
